Drawing is a central part of my art-making process. Every month, I fill at least one pocket-sized sketchbook. A substantial amount of each book is completed while I ride the subway. A bumpy train car isn't the ideal place to complete a masterpiece, but that isn't what any of my sketchbook pages are intended to be. Some of the drawings are ideas for future prints or paintings, others are designs for sculptures or jewelry, and many are simple mark-making exercises. I personally enjoy being able to see the working processes of other artists. In that spirit, here is a selection of pen drawings from my sketchbooks.
